Hello my fellow koornbeursers. I started my studies here in the Netherlands a good 2 years ago and just like many of you I discovered the holy grail of drunk student food on my journey more commonly known as “kapsalon” (insert angelic humming) and today after some delay I will be reviewing a handful of döner shops in Delft based on taste, price, Delivery/waiting time and uhhh last but not least how much I will regret my decision the next day.
Karims (Best late night)
We’ll start the list off with the Peperstraat which is the most famous street in Delft past 12 am. Here you will find one of the three döner restaurants in Delft: Karims fast food.
Formerly called Doner kingdom, this place is named after the dude in the pic who I assumed is called Karim. He always tries to make jokes with the drunk corpsballen trying to order 12 turkish pizzas for their “club”. Respect to him lol couldn’t be me. Anyway, a solid place to eat and they’re open till quite late sometimes orders can take a while tho.
Taste: 7/10
Price: 5/10 (fuck inflation)
Waiting Time: 6/10 it’s a hit or miss tbh
Do I regret eating it the next day: sometimes…
Kobi’s
Number 2 of the Peperstraat and the go-to spot when Karims is too full of drunk corpsballs, Kobi’s is a good second choice in the Peperstraat and Kobi himself is always very friendly. They have good food, however it’s a bit on the expensive side.
Taste: 7/10
Price: 4/10
Waiting Time: 5/10 usually takes a bit since most people sit inside and eat.
Do I regret eating it the next day: not really.
Alev
My third and least favorite shop in the Peperstraat.
The food is just a bit underwhelming, the only real selling point is that they have ice cream cones and it’s sort of another shop you go to when Karim is busy, it is however not as expensive as the rest.
Taste: 5/10
Price: 6/10
Waiting Time: 6/10 average waiting time
Do I regret eating it the next day: usually
Samara2go (Best taste)
A nice little shop at the Papsouwselaan, this shop used to be my favorite, they had the best durums in delft in my opinion, very flavorful. The only downside is that at the time I told myself I would pay the 7.50 for a durum with cheese because it’s actually really good but ever since it now costs 10,50 I have stopped ordering it 🙁
Taste: 8/10
Price: 3/10
Waiting Time: 7/10 pretty speedy
Do I regret eating it the next day: nope
Döner King
Not to be confused with Karim’s (aka doner kingdom).
Arguably the most mainstream döner place in Delft. Their food is just average at best and the only real plus they have is that they’re quick to deliver. Overall a bit mid.
Taste: 5/10
Price: 5/10
Waiting Time: 7/10 decently speedy
Do I regret eating it the next day: yes.
Jeruzalem
A favorite amongsus Koornbeursers since it is around the corner and open till pretty late on most nights.
They have really good durums and kapsalons and are not too expensive and they’re usually not very busy so you get your food quickly.
Overall, a solid choice.
Taste: 7/10
Price: 7/10
Waiting Time: 7/10 pretty speedy (not for delivery tho)
Do I regret eating it the next day: no.
Food Station
A kb TU town favorite or at least it was ever since their sketchy opening schedule. Aside from that, their food is a bit hit or miss, sometimes it’s wack and you don’t wanna finish it, and sometimes it’s actually pretty ok. Its only real upside was the convenience of it being on campus, they aren’t open very late either.
Taste: 6/10
Price: 6/10
Waiting Time: 5/10
Do I regret eating it the next day: sometimes.
Ps. I don’t like their sambal
Tasty Corner
One of the first places I ever ate doner at in delft, used to come here with my first-year friends sit down and enjoy our recently discovered love for kapsalon. However I sort of stopped going ever since their prices went up significantly, their kapsalons are decent tho. Also not the fastest.
Taste: 7/10
Price: 5/10
Waiting Time: 5/10
Do I regret eating it the next day: not really.
