Oppertapper ramblings :)

Introduction

You thought I had forgotten to write an article for this month! Ha! (I did forget, blame life I guess…)

This episode, I guess I’ll call it that, will be based around an alcohol-free drink! This is to follow the trend ‘Dry January’.

I have never done Dry January so I can’t really have a valid opinion on it. However, I am going to give my opinion. So before I do that, I want to say the following:

I am very proud of everyone who is just doing a month of going alcohol free! You got this, I believe in you all! I’m also especially proud of people who want to stop smoking during January. BIG love!

I for one hate this trend. That is not because I feel the idea of going alcohol free is wrong, I just feel like people don’t go at it the right way. At work, at the Koornbeurs, there are always enough alcohol free options, which is great! You should always be able to borrel without drinking alcohol. During January, people drink so much of this, which is also great! It’s better for your organs and, in contrary to popular belief, it’s better for your mental health :)!

However, there is a monkey in the sleeve (this comment is supposed to be funny because it’s a Dutch saying that I translated to English, which makes the saying very weird. Anyway. Ha. Ha.). Whenever I work in February, or look at the sales of alcohol-free options in the Koornbeurs, it just goes straight to what it was. Sometimes it’s even more in February than in the months before January.

This makes me feel like the whole point of Dry January is just ruined. I feel like it is supposed to make you aware that you don’t have to drink, and that there are lots of alcohol-free options.

Anyways, I have never done Dry January so I am really not allowed to talk. This was basically just a filler episode for the amazing to talk to come :).

Drink

Now, for the drink. I did need to think about this very hard. I wanted to maybe talk about the very first 0.0 keg I put on tap this month, but we are already out so that wouldn’t make a lot of sense.

So, I am gonna talk about the drink I beer the most during DB/VDB or just Koornbeurs days. It is…

Royal Pink Aromatic Berry!

I know, I know. The drink is from the Coca-Cola company. I hate it. I don’t like to think about the company. I’m just talking about the drink itself here. I won’t go into depth about the brewery/company like I did with a lot of passion last time. Because there is just no passion in the company, and they are probably only in it for the money.

ANYWAY,

The drink itself is so goated! The taste is pretty nice, and I am at least not feeling like I am consuming a lot of sugar. What is also very fun, is that it is very bubbly. I like bubbles. What I also like, is having something autistic to do while focussing on something else. So, what does that have to do with this drink? Great question!

You can, once you opened the bottle of this drink, put your finger on the opening and shake the bottle a bit. If you do this correctly and then GENTLY take off your finger and it will spew a stream of bubbly gas. And I just like the sound.

Unfortunately, this doesn’t work when the party is in plastics and we pour it. Such problems man.

Anyways, I invite you to try it some time! I also invite you to try all the different alcoholfree options I tried for the KB this year! Definitely also let me know if I am missing one!

Closer

Thank you all for listening! I feel like sometimes my head is a bit full with things I have to do still. That might even be things that I am telling myself I HAVE to do. I sometimes gaslight myself about stuff. It just happens.

Every time I feel like this is happening, I like to write. Writing down my feelings, or just random thoughts like this article. This helps me, so I write it for myself as well as for you guys my readers, but thanks for reading anyways!! Have a great rest of January (and a rest of the year as well of course :))!!

P.S. Why does the English language make me capitalize the I… It makes me feel more egoistic than usual.
