{"id":2333,"date":"2025-08-22T16:18:40","date_gmt":"2025-08-22T15:18:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/forum.koornbeurs.nl\/?p=2333"},"modified":"2025-08-22T16:18:56","modified_gmt":"2025-08-22T15:18:56","slug":"mmmmmm-eten","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/forum.koornbeurs.nl\/index.php\/2025\/08\/22\/mmmmmm-eten\/","title":{"rendered":"Mmmmmm eten"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Hey guys, as former Oppertapper of the Koornbeurs, there\u2019s one thing I know more about than the average Koornbeurser: Food.\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>I love food, but more importantly, I love to cook.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>So here\u2019s my \u201cLET ME COOK\u201d article on the stuff I cook when I don\u2019t know what to cook. I\u2019m not gonna add what specific seasonings I use, since that\u2019s too much effort and I usually don\u2019t even think when throwing stuff in there, but just assume most of this contains maggi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Ravioli<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>If an Italian saw me making it, they would kick me to the curb, but it\u2019s tasty, and everyone who has tried it was a big fan. It\u2019s ravioli with paprika powder, cayenne pepper, (vega) bacon bits, arugula, tomatoes, and sometimes mushrooms.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"2\">\n<li><strong>Mapo tofu<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>Gotta be one of the easiest dishes on my rotation. It\u2019s just frying some minced meat, throwing premade sauce in there, and adding some tofu. I make my ancestors roll in their graves by adding vegetables to it, but it doesn\u2019t feel balanced if I don\u2019t. The acceptable version is just adding some pak soy next to it with oyster sauce and drizzling some hot sunflower oil over it, but why would I do that when I can also add precut veggie mix and corn from a can?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"3\">\n<li><strong>Japanese Curry<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I love to just whip up a Japanese curry when I don\u2019t know what else to cook since it\u2019s just onions, potatoes, and carrots with (premade) sauce. HOWEVER, I can\u2019t cook without throwing my own stuff in there so I always add peas and sometimes some sort of meat, but most of the time I throw a (vega)schnitzel in the air fryer instead of making katsu, since I REFUSE to go through the effort of making katsu for a quick meal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"4\">\n<li><strong>Roti with masala<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>You might think \u201cHUH, but roti is so much work??\u201d. Well, you\u2019re wrong, cause when I\u2019m too lazy to cook I won\u2019t hesitate to buy premade roti and that\u2019s 90% of the work. The masala is just mixing the power with onions, salt, and water and baking that for a few minutes (not too long, sonce it&#8217;ll get bitter) before throwing in the veggies, tomato paste, and celery. You do need to precook the potatoes, but that\u2019s easy peasy. If you want to make chicken, it\u2019s the same thing as the veggies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"5\">\n<li><strong>Fried rice<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I have a simple fried rice recipe and it\u2019s corn out of a can, tuinerwten, spam, eggs, soy sauce, and seasonings.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"6\">\n<li><strong>Bruine bonen met rijst (BB met R)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>I once made this as mensa and got multiple messages asking if it\u2019s just beans with rice, but worry not my child, there\u2019s more stuff in there. It contains brown beans, tomatoes, celery, a bit of ketjap, (vega)sausages and if you want chicken.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\" start=\"7\">\n<li><strong>Bami<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p>When I just learned how to make this I ate it every week for a while, but it\u2019s so simple. The rich bitch way is to buy expensive noodles from the Surinamese stores, but the poor man&#8217;s (Suriname-approved) way is to use spaghetti. The sauce is laos, onion, ketjap, sugar, tomato paste and celery. The (vega)chicken is pretty much the same sauce as the bami itself, so easy!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;If you\u2019re thinking it\u2019s suspicious that my 3 Surinamese dishes on this list almost all use the same flavours, you\u2019d be right. We know 5 flavours, but for some reason all the dishes taste completely different. I could go on and on, but I think this article is long enough as is.
